Ongoing project:

Uganda

We began supporting the Home of Dreams Orphanage in Uganda in 2020, when its director Wanume reached out to us asking for help with donations of clothing and school supplies for the children in his care. Wanume founded the Orphanage when he was just 16 years old and remains the primary caregiver for the children.

Today, Home of Dreams provides a home for about 20 children. Wanume believes deeply in the power of education and ensures that every child attends school. As the children grow, they graduate, find employment, and move on to build independent lives. Wanume then continues his mission by welcoming and caring for new orphaned children who need a safe place to call home.

Supporting, feeding, and paying school tuitions for 20 children, however, is an enormous challenge. With very limited resources, Wanume relies heavily on donations to provide food, clothing, and basic necessities for the children.

Seeing this need, our Junior Board Chair Victoria decided to take action and create a long-term solution for the orphanage. Through her fundraising efforts she was able to raise enough funds to purchase 3 acres of farmland for Home of Dreams, allowing the orphanage to grow its own food and provide the children with consistent nutritious meals. This project is helping move the orphanage toward greater sustainability and a more secure future. Please join Victoria’s efforts and donate today!
